Modulex Helps Concordia College Become More Green While Saving More Green

Johnson Controls found an ideal answer to Concordia College’s challenge with two AERCO Modulex 1060 (MLX-1060) condensing, fully modulating boilers that were installed in the school’s Scheele Memorial Library. The boilers’ unmatched turndown, up to 99% efficiency, and strict emissions control helped meet the school’s goal of utilizing a “green” system.

25% Fuel Savings with Benchmark Boilers at Connecticut Manufacturing Facility

In 2007 after nearly ten years in service, countless repairs, deteriorating efficiency and four consecutive increases in annual natural gas consumption, OFS Fitel, LLC (OFS) needed to replace its five, one million BTU/hour copper-fin boilers or face the possibility of a total system failure. Installation of two AERCO Benchmark 2.0 Low NOx (BMK2.0LN) boilers has not only kept the facility operational, it has enabled the Avon, Connecticut-based fiber optic manufacturing company to reduce energy consumption by 25% in the first year.

Illinois Realtors Building Adopts New Standard For High Efficiency Boilers

When it was built in the 1970s, the modular boiler plant installed in the Illinois Realtors Building was considered state-of-the-art. However, some 30 years later, the building owners were eager to replace the non-modulating, non-condensing Hydrotherm boilers with high-efficiency equipment based on 21st century performance standards. With the help of Johnson Controls and Pacific Management, they replaced the aging boiler plant with two AERCO Modulex condensing and fully modulating boilers.

Modulex Boilers Help New England Apartment Complex Save Money and Reduce Fuel Consumption

Georgetown Apartments, located in Framingham, MA, is a large garden-style apartment complex consisting of nine, identical three-story buildings - each with 23 units. The complex was built in the early 1970s using concrete block construction with brick veneer and a gabled roof. When the existing boiler and water heating equipment, approximately 18-25 years old, had reached the end of its useful life, building owners opted to upgrade to high-efficiency equipment and a state-of-the art system design.

Modulex Boilers Cut University’s Heating Costs with De-centralized System

In September 2006, Concordia University, a 187-acre campus nestled on the banks of the Huron River in Ann Arbor, Michigan, began a project to reduce energy use and strive for a greener campus. To help accomplish this goal, the school’s engineering and management team knew the existing centralized steam heating system would have to be replaced.
